Opened in spring 2011, the Gaétan Girouard Garden is the fruition of the MIRA Foundation's desire to honour and celebrate the contribution of the famous television host. Located in Sainte-Madeleine near Saint-Hyacinthe, the garden and its surroundings now have dozens of trees identified in memory of the benefactors that supported the foundation through a significant gift.

More than a symbolic act, planting trees in memory of donors helps make our environment healthier and greener. Each tree planted mitigates the adverse effects of climate change, and the MIRA Foundation thus enables you to do your part for the environment while helping the organization to pursue its work.

MIRA

Guide dog accommodation

A guide dog class takes place over a period of 30 days when an individual is first given a guide dog, and over a period of 14 to 21 days for a renewal . The class is composed of a maximum of 10 individuals. Accomodation and meals for the participants are taken care of by the MIRA Foundation. Each person is given an individual room for the length of their stay, and meals are prepared and served in the dining room by the staff. All of this is free of charge.

MIRA

Evaluation kennel

The very first building to be constructed on the site of the MIRA Foundation, the evaluation kennel is where the dogs stay during their evaluation process. It's at this stage of training that each dog is directed to the different programs of the MIRA Foundation.

MIRA

Denis Rochette Kennel

The Denis Rochette kennel houses around a hundred dogs in training. The building's interior and surroundings simulate an urban route with sidewalks, slopes, sewer grates, mailboxes, and mannequins that reconstruct the main obstacles that the dog must learn to avoid.

Service dog accommodation (Eukanuba Centre)

A service dog class takes place over a period of 21 days. The class is composed of a maximum of 10 individuals. Accommodation and meals for the participants are taken care of by the MIRA Foundation. Each person is given an individual room for the length of their stay, and meals are prepared and served in the dining room by the staff. All of this free of charge.

Schola MIRA

The Schola MIRA's objective is to improve the quality of life for children with a pervasive development disorder (PDD) and that of their families by providing them with a service dog and with services adapted to their needs. Schola MIRA also provides training and support services to parents and loved ones of these children, and to professionals who wish to gain knowledge in this area or to deepen their existing knowledge.

Administration (Steven & Sandra Mintz Hall)

A team of eight people looks after the administration, accounting, and financing of the MIRA Foundation. This team doesn't receive any government funding and is financed by public donations alone. All of the services MIRA provides are offered to the users for free.

MIRA

Nursery and veterinary clinic (RBC Hall)

More than 300 puppies are born every year in a nursery that is built to meet the highest standards of hygiene. All MIRA Foundation puppies follow a comprehensive health program.
